Updated: Mar 5

Spring Break is just around the corner, and it’s time to plan for a week of school-free fun. From historic tours under grand oaks and thrill-seeking activities, to waterfront views and shopping sprees, plenty of excitement is found here in League City.

Explore the Historic District

Take a step back in time as you check out League City’s beloved Historic District. Stroll through this charming district, full of flourishing oak trees and authentic Texas history. Explore historic hot spots like the West Bay Common Schoolchildren’s Museum & Barn Museum, Butler’s Courtyard, the Shoppes at Founder’s Square, and historic homes and buildings that make up the district. Take the opportunity to snap a couple of selfies in front of colorful art murals and detailed sculptures in League Park or stage a photoshoot in the floral beauty of Helen’s Garden.

Paddle on the Creek

Nature beckons you to the Clear Creek Paddle Trail, a meandering 5.5-mile stretch of water and scenic views from Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside all the way to Heritage Park. Spot wildlife that lives around the creek on your journey, including wading birds, alligators, and deer. Need a rental? Clear Creek Kayaks offers kayak rentals and guided trail tours on the weekends.

Enjoy Waterfront Views

Offering incredible dining and some of the best views in League City and Bay Area Houston, waterfront restaurants are sprinkled throughout the Clear Lake region. Opus Bistro & Steakhouse is nestled into South Shore Harbour Resort and overlooks the glistening blue of the marina. Choose mouthwatering entrees from fresh crab cakes and Veal New Orleans to Red Snapper Charlie Brown and 22oz ribeye. Close by, Schafer’s Coastal Bar and Grille has a more casual atmosphere, an outdoor patio, and cuisine with a Guld Coast flair. Try the creole crab dip or blackened Mahi Mahi fish tacos and splurge on Schafer’s signature apple crisp dessert. After a long day of fun on the boardwalk, stop by Kemah Boardwalk's waterfront restaurants, where you can sit outside and enjoy the view of Galveston Bay while sharing coastal dishes and fine cuisine with the entire family.
