Enjoy a colorful, whimsical art display during League City’s newest gallery opening, The Art of Paper. The public is invited to stop by on May 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center for a night of community, meet the artists, light refreshments, and original paper art pieces.
This unique gallery features over 40 papercraft artworks by residents as young as three years old. Each piece is created from at least 80 percent paper. Along with these creative works, there are hundreds of origami birds "flying" around the gallery. These origami pieces were part of a community art project, and include submissions from students from Bayside Intermediate, residents, and League City staff.
Unable to make the gallery opening? The public can still view the artwork during normal business hours at the Civic Center: Monday–Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
