Don you white, grab your friends and family, and join in the celebrations during League City’s third annual White Linen Night: A Local Art Affair on Saturday, June 8! An evening of art, music, food, and history in League City’s very own Historic District, White Linen Night is a summer event that you won’t want to miss.
When and where is the event?
League City’s White Linen Night: A Local Art Affair event is on Saturday, June 8, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Located in the Historic District—starting from League Park and venturing all the way down to the League City Historical Society Museum—the streets will be shut down for guests to explore artist booths, live art demonstrations, food trucks, live entertainment, and so much more. The event is sponsored by League City Patrons of the Parks and Arts Foundation.
What is White Linen Night?
White Linen Night pays homage to the centuries-old New Orleans tradition of wearing white clothes while socializing outdoors in the summer heat. League City’s White Linen Night: A Local Art Affair celebrates the arts and history of League City’s charming Historic District by showcasing nearly 100 local artists with booths lining the streets. We encourage guests to wear and show off their best white linen, so they can beat the heat while strolling beneath the sprawling oaks that overlook the Historic District. The best part? The event is completely free!
What can guests expect?
Art! So much art. In addition to local artists displaying and selling their unique works, there will be live music and entertainment, live art demonstrations scattered throughout the three blocks of the event, an art-focused “Kid Zone” overseen by teachers and students from the University of Houston-Clear Lake Art School, colorful, unique vehicles from Houston Art Cars, and loads of food trucks and drink vendors so you won’t go hungry. To keep cool in the summer heat, there will be free water bottles available throughout the event, along with several cooling stations to help guests cool down. Check out the handy map below for a visual guide of who and what will be where!
Where can guests park?
Free parking is available at League City Elementary (520 East Walker Street), with easy access to walk down the street to enter the event. In addition to that, shuttle buses will run continuously from 4 to 8 p.m. from the City Municipal Complex (300 West Walker Street) and ACU of Texas (1095 W League City Parkway).
